Smokey von Soest is a magnificent 3 year old long haired German Shepherd. His family moved and he found himself in an animal shelter. Thanks to another dog rescue, lucky Smokey made his way to Westside. It’s hard to look away from this stunning fluffball. His looks are lovely and so is his personality! A great all-around boy with mid-energy levels, he’s always ready to go on a walk, exploring all the new humans, dogs, and smells that await outside the door. You simply can’t look at his coat and not want to pet it — which is good since Smokey loves getting his butt scratched and will lean in for more. His previous family described him as gentle and loving. He lived with older kids and a female dog, and was house trained. They also indicated that he's good in the car, okay home alone, not a jumper or digger, and good with other dogs (he even went to dog parks). He also passed cat testing with us, but we would test again for a home with cats. When out with fellow canines and adoring humans at the rescue, he is calm and comfortable. In playgroups he enjoys mingling with the other dogs. You can tell he was raised in a loving home. We can just imagine how heartbroken his family was to give him up, but we are excited to help him find another family to adore him. Smokey is ready to open his heart to family again — Is it yours?
